YOU DON'T HAVE TO HEAR BUSH'S WORDS TO SEE THAT HE'S EVADING
Sometime in the latter
twentieth century there was a write-up in a scientific or medical publication that suggests a revealing experiment. The scene
was an institution with a group of deaf mutes watching a press conference or interview on television. The author looked in
to find all of the watchers convulsed in laughter. A sign language interpreter found that they all knew that the speaker was
lying shamelessly, even though they had no idea of what he (President Reagan) was actually saying. This memory, plus the mute
switch on the remote, encouraged me to see if my visceral aversion to the members of this administration might arise from
a primitive capacity to know a liar when I see one. I tried it with Bush, Cheney, Powell and Ashcroft. One of them seemed
to be sincere. I know you can guess which one. Strangely, I later found that Rumsfeld seemed to believe his own words, too.
Do you suppose he really does? But, we're supposed to concentrate on Bush, because he's the main poodle in this dog show.
RICHARD PERLE'S ABYSMAL IGNORAGE REVEALED TODAY (3/28/04) WHEN INTERVIEWED BY JUDY WOODRUFF ON CNN
Richard Perle admitted to Judy Woodruff today that it did not even occur to him at first that Bin Laden was behind the attacks
on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon on 9/11. This was a stunning admission that the administration had been sleeping through
immediately previous history. When the second plane hit I was watching, and because I had been watching CNN and listening
to NPR for a few years, I instantly uttered in horror, to my son, the name, "Bin Laden."
The contrast with the profound human concern and detailed awareness of the world exhibited by Richard Clarke in the immediately
preceding interview by Woodruff could not have been more dramatic. We knew this administration is layered with liars; now
we have proof that some are deeply ignorant liars.
